“Mary is a big reason that the newborn phase with our third baby was so joy-filled. She has such a warm presence. We looked forward to each morning she visited our home as she was always helpful, comforting and supportive. Her counsel and conversation were welcome additions during the frenzied early days with three children.”

postpartum doula
I am a non-medical, professional care provider for the birthing person. Historically, and currently in many other countries around the world, this role was/is filled by other people who had given birth in the family.
Postpartum doulas support you in your home after the birth of your baby, typically for the first three months.
doula support in practice:
providing evidence-based information and education on newborn care and soothing
assisting with household chores like laundry, dishes, and general tidying
preparing meals
holding your baby so that you can rest, shower, and take care of yourself
empathetic listening for all family members to help them adjust to their new caregiving role
validating and normalizing your experience
providing evidence-based information and education around perinatal mood disorders
non-judgmental companionship and presence
you can book a complimentary consultation for in-person doula support on my scheduling page.
lactation educator
As your Lactation Educator (CLE), I am trained to provide non-medical and non-diagnostic lactation support.
lactation education support looks like:
evidence-based information and education regarding infant feeding (nursing or body feeding, bottle feeding)
showing you common and optimal nursing positions
familiarizing you with nursing and feeding products (pumps, bottles)
helping you create a back-to-work feeding plan
you can book a complimentary consultation for in-person lactation support on my scheduling page.
